Will the New England Patriots Break Their Own Record?
Despite my ongoing hatred for the New England Patriots, I have to give credit where credit is due. The New England Patriots broke more records in one season than any man can remember.
Between Tom Brady's touchdown record of 50, Randy Moss coming off a declining career with the Oakland Raiders to set the NFL record for most touchdown receptions at 23, and becoming the only team in NFL history to go 18-0, they've become legendary.
The 2007-2008 Patriots will go down with the 1972 Dolphins.

Coming to a final record of 18-1 after David Tyree shocked the world with his miracle helmet catch on 4th-and-1, which lead to the completely unexpected defeat of the Patriots in the Super Bowl, they stand unopposed.
In my opinion, and in the opinion of many others, the only team in the NFL capable of beating the New England Patriots' 2007 win record is the New England Patriots. They are there own competition, as it is pretty clear no other team in the NFL has the roster to achieve such a feat at the moment.
Do I believe that the Patriots could beat their record and have a completely perfect season? Yes I do. Any team with that kind of talent has unworldly possibilities. Do I think that they will? No. I believe that the way the team is being run right now, with the loss of Asante Samuael, Dante Stallworth, and the rapidly declining health of Vrabel and Seau, the Patriots stand much weaker this coming season than last year.
I think there is a possibility in the future for them to achieve such greatness again, but as for this year, I don't believe it to be possible. Don't get me wrong, with the schedule the Patriots have this season, they will undoubtedly have an amazing record, and possibly even go 16-0 again, but like I said, I don't think they will win the whole show.
Not yet at least.
