Welcome everyone to opening night for the 2010-2011 NHL season.

Tonight, this live blog will cover the Pittsburgh Penguins' opening game in their brand new home at Consol Energy Center. This project was several years in the making, but tonight, it is time to bask in all the hard work of the Penguins organization and enjoy this building.

The game will be the Penguins' 167th consecutive sellout, and since the Penguins are playing the arch-rival Philadelphia Flyers, there is a lot to be pumped up about.

I am hoping to see the pregame ceremonies for tonight's game, but should Versus not air them, I plan on covering the game starting at 7:00.

LET'S GO PENS!
