Los Angeles Kings Season Preview
Bad:
The Kings Penalty kill unit was in the bottom half of the league. Los Angeles also allowed the third highest third period goals in the NHL.
Good:
The Los Angeles Kings were in the top ten in power play goals. Los Angeles was also good at scoring first and winning when scoring first. Another thing that Los Angeles was good at was winning when leading after two periods. They were 29-0-2 when leading after two. The Kings also improved in shootouts. They went from 5-9 to 10-8 in shootouts.
Best Free Agent Lost:
Alexander Frolov’s offense will be missed this year.
Best Free Agent Added:
Alexi Ponikarovsky should have a good offensive year and should be able to fit right into the Kings’ system.
Where I see Los Angeles this year:
I see Los Angeles killing more penalties and playing better in the third period. If they continue to do everything else right and improve in those margins, then they should be a contender for the Pacific Division title this year.
