Buffalo Sabres season preview

Can’t think of anything bad to say about this Sabres hockey team. Last year they scored first 41 times and of those 41 times they didn’t convert scoring first into points 4 times. The Sabres had the man advantage for 29 more times than their opponents last year. They even had the best penalty kill in the NHL. Now, I guess the only bad part out of that was not being able to score while shorthanded. Maybe going 1-4-2 in the last month of the season was a good reason why they had third place in the East last year.
Best free agent signing:
Rob Niedermayer and Jordan Leopold should add some depth on this young team. Rob will add some veteran leadership to the team and he will help this offense improve. Jordan Leopold was a great defender for Pittsburgh and I truly can’t explain why they let him go.
Where Buffalo should go next year:
I see Buffalo giving everyone a run for their money again this year. Since they don’t have the big market like everyone else has in the east they should do this quietly this year. Buffalo has a good offense and now they have some defense to go with their offense. Not to mention, they have one of the best goaltenders in the league who made a name for himself last winter.
