Mark Spitz Should Get to See Michael Phelps Break Olympic Swimming Record

Where's the pride in America? How come the USA has no respect for our champions of old?

Mark Spitz should have been next to President George W. Bush cheering on Michael Phelps' championship run. Why on earth did this not happen?

I understand that Spitz wanted to go to Beijing; however, the US Olympic Committee nor the US Government chose to foot the bill for him. That is just not right. We are better than that!

Don't forget Spitz won seven gold medals in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.
