It's finally almost here, the Ryder Cup is back.
Aside from the spectacular display of golf, one thing fans often look forward to regarding the tournament is the team's fashion statement. The choice of outerwear is hotly debated, with some fashion statements overwhelmingly popular and others not so much.
Last week the United States unveiled their choice of uniforms for this coming weekend.
Let's take a look.
The rain jackets look very sharp this year, with the style being influenced by throw back Chicago White Sox uniforms.
The last name above the USA is a nice touch that really brings the jacket together. I wouldn't mind having one of these myself for the upcoming season.
The practice round uniform holds several options, with the players being able to choose which pants, shirt and vest they would like to wear.
The look reflects on the current trend in America, with styles of the past making a comeback.
Friday's sweater is very symbolic and carries tons of tradition. The sweater is similar to that of the one Tom Watson and the 1993 American team designed after winning the Ryder Cup that year.
However, while the meaning might be special, this sweater is far from visually appealing. The yellow seems washed up and the print of the trophy looks somewhat cheesy.
Saturday's outfit choice is better, but not by much.
Here we have a purple sweater and black pants with pin stripes as the main aspects of the outfit. The purple is a better choice than the faded yellow, but the sweater leaves a lot to be desired.
I know these v-neck sweaters are making a comeback in the fashion world, but with this outfit it simply looks like something an old man would wear to church.
For the final round the United States makes a nice recovery with this spiffy black outfit.
The black fleece looks great, and the red, white and blue belt really finishes off the outfit nicely. The red outlines on the fleece's collar and sleeves also provide a nice touch.
If the United States planned on saving their best outfit for last, they without a doubt did just that. Hopefully they can also manage to save their best play for the last round this weekend.
