David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy lost 2-0 at home to the New York Red Bulls on Friday night.

Making his first start of the MLS season, Beckham played all 90 minutes. But the English superstar was held mostly in check by the Red Bulls, despite them playing without their own international star, Thierry Henry.

But the frustration for Beckham didn't end with the final whistle.

The Prostitute's Side of the Story

Beckham was accused recently by In Touch magazine of paying a prostitute $10,000 to sleep with him back in 2007.

Irma Nici, now 26, details her reported sexual encounters with Beckham in the magazine's latest issue, though there's no apparent evidence to support her side of the story.

The Beckham camp struck back quickly:

“[These rumours] are completely untrue and totally ridiculous, as the magazine was clearly told before publication. Sadly we live in a world where a magazine can print lies and believe they can get away with it. We are taking legal action against the magazine.”

The Postgame Confrontation

But after Friday night's loss to the Red Bulls, as Beckham was sauntering—shirtless, I might add—back to the Galaxy locker room, he was taunted by an L.A. fan screaming something about Becks' reported connection to the prostitute.

And the Spice Boy turned right around and confronted the troublemaker.

The video doesn't lie.

Taunt Me Twice, Shame on Me

But this wasn't the first time Beckham had words with a fan.

Remember this little get-together in the corner last year?

Third Time's a Charm

Or this time last summer when a fan said something inappropriate about Becks' wife, Victoria (a.k.a. Posh Spice)?

So What's Next For Becks?

So thumbs up or thumbs down for the most fashionable player in all of soccer?

Is he right for defending his honor in the face of a loud-mouthed fan?

Or as a well-known sportsman and celebrity, should he hold himself to a higher standard?

You be the judge.

But let's all continue to enjoy the spectacle that is David Beckham, both on and off the pitch.
