Atlanta Thrashers Preview 2010

Problems for the Thrashers:
The Thrashers were one of those teams that lost games in overtimes and shootouts. They need win those overtime games if they want to make the playoffs this year.
The Thrashers were also in the penalty box a lot last year. They need to go on power plays instead of being on the PK.
There were only two teams that scored first fewer times than Atlanta last year. So, one problem that Atlanta clearly needs to focus on this year is scoring first.
Good things for Atlanta:
The Thrashers were among the league’s best when it came to shorthanded goals last year. Atlanta will have to keep that up. Atlanta was also among the league’s best when it came to winning games in the third period. If they keep those two numbers up and if they can get early goals Atlanta shouldn’t have a problem winning games this year.
Atlanta’s great off season moves:
Andrew Ladd and Jared Ross should add some depth at offense and Chris Mason should be a great goalie this year for Atlanta.
Atlanta’s only bad move:
Letting Colby Armstrong may seem bad when the season starts.
How the Thrashers should do this season:
If Atlanta could continue scoring late and if they can start scoring goals early they should be able to make the playoffs. They do have a solid goaltender in Chris Mason, so, look for Atlanta to make the playoffs this year.
