UFC 119 Results: Matt Mitrione Stops Joey Beltran to Move to 3-0
Bloody Elbow

Former "Ultimate Fighter" season 10 contestant Matt Mitrione (now 3-0) took on Joey Beltran (now 12-4) in a heavyweight contest to kick off the Spike TV portion of the card.

Round 1 saw Mitrione get the better of the striking early, but Beltran would fire back with punches and then take Mitrione down and land some ground and pound.

Beltran made everything count as soon as he got on top and would let the judges know that he took the first round.

Early on in Round 2 both men exchanged blows but Mitrione would seem to get the better of the two. Halfway through the round, Mitrione rocked Beltran.

With a minute left, both Mitrione and Beltran exchange punches and Mitrione is able to finish the round with a flurry of kicks.

Beltran begins swinging wide in the third round but Mitrione would keep pressuring Beltran and stalk him.

Mitrione begins taking control of the fight landing combinations, and Beltran looks noticeably tired.

The footwork of Mitrione looks much sharper than it has in the past as he is able to easily move out of the way of Beltran's wading punches.

The end of round three saw both fighter swing for the fences with just seconds left.

Matt Mitrione wins via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
