    Sara Carbonero is Bleacher Report's Sports Chick Hottie of the Week!

    Sara Carbonero is a well-known name amongst European soccer fans. The Spanish reporter/WAG was named FHM's "Hottest Sports Reporter" in 2010, and has been making the internet rounds as the latest in a long line of sexy sports personalities.

    Now, Carbonero has received the highest honor we here at Bleacher Report can bestow: Sara has been named the Sports Chick Hottie of the Week! 

    For those of us who were unaware of Ms. Carbonero until this very moment, here's a little primer to help you get to know her. 

Her Past

    Carbonero was born in Corral de Almaguer, Toledo, Spain, on November 30, 1984. She attended the University of Madrid.

Her Career

    Carbonero got her break into the media via radio.

    She got her start in radio, before moving to Spanish television network La Sexta. 

    Sexta is Spanish for the text messages Brett Favre sent to Jenn Sterger.

    Sara worked on various shows at La Sexta, including the music program SuperMarca and the sports news program called "The Chain". She's also worked on La Sexta's coverage of the 2007 European basketball championships, following Spain's teams around. I wonder why they picked her?

    In 2009, Sara switched networks, moving from La Sexta to the Madrid-based Telecinco, or Tele 5. She has been a regular reporter on their sports news show, and was sent to cover the 2009 Confederations Cup in South Africa, and the 2010 World Cup in the same location.

    Carbonero used her journalistic skills to finagle an interview out of David Villa.

    Carbonero earned her journalist's notebook during the Confederations Cup, when she managed to wrangle high-profile transfer market player David Villa for an exclusive interview. She was the only journalist to accomplish this feat.

    Carbonero has been romantically linked to Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

    Most recently, Sara Carbonero has been romantically linked to Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas. 

World Cup Debacle

    Carbonero created a firestorm during the 2010 World Cup. After Spain was shocked by Switzerland in their opening round game, Carbonero was blamed. 

    Media outlets around the world chided her for being too distracting to the players, by standing on the sidelines during the match, doing her job. 

    Despite her continued presence, the Spanish failed to lose again, sucking the air from those arguments.
