“I think Margarito is too slow for Manny and I hope Manny puts another beating on Margarito to teach him a lesson,” stated undefeated jr. middleweight contender Vanes Martirosyan, who will once again serve as one of Manny Pacquiao’s chief sparring partners in his preparation for his November 13 clash with Antonio Margarito. “Margarito’s style and mine are really the same, but our height and build is the main reason. So I am going to go over there, put on a good performance, stay in shape and spar with Manny to help get him ready for his fight,” he would tell FightHype’s own Jonathan Ramirez. According to Martirosyan, although he was banned from the sport for over a year, Margarito needs to be taught a tougher lesson for his involvement in the illegal handwrap scandal prior to his bout with Shane Mosley.

“I think what he did was wrong. Whether he did or did not know, it shouldn’t matter. Somebody can get killed in there. At the same time, we all make mistakes; as long as we learn from our mistakes. But because boxing is such a brutal sport, I don’t belive there should be second chances when it comes to stuff like that,” Martirosyan explained. “I don’t believe in cheating; not one bit. Whether it’s taking enhancements or other stuff like that, I think people who do that should get knocked out and learn their lesson.”

Of course, some would say that Margarito already got what he deserved via the punishment he received from Shane Mosley, who dominated their fight start to finish, sending him to the canvas once before ultimately stopping him in the 9th round. Martirosyan, however, believes that Margarito still needs to be taught the definition of karma. “You know, they say karma is a bitch and thats what happened to him that night,” he added. “So now, he has to learn a lesson and I think Manny is going to show him his lesson.”
