Hello everyone and thank you for reading my blog. I will be previewing the NFL’s schedule for week 3.
Not many teams can say that they look like they are the best after watching the first two weeks of the season. So, week three should indentify some teams.
Tennessee will be playing at New York. Correct me if I’m wrong but did I just hear Tennessee’s coach say that there is not a controversy at the quarterback position? When you here a coach say that it means that there is a controversy. Last week Vince Young was benched after a poor performance, but then the coach said that Young will start week 3? Sounds like Tennessee could be going through some locker room problems. As for New York, the Giants just lost to the Colts. I will have to admit that it was ugly. Look for Eli Manning to bounce back this week to put his team at 2 and 1.
In the last four seasons every team that finishes last in the NFC South finished first in the NFC South the next year. Last year the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished last in that division and they have a chance to start 3-0. The only team that’s in front of that 3-0 start is a team who is trying to out defend everyone in their schedule until Big Ben comes back. Could you imagine that type of finish at Pittsburgh can have after starting 3-1 if they can win this week at Tampa Bay? Even I had them written off after seeing they type of suspension that Ben received. Look for Pittsburgh to make a statement this week against Tampa Bay.
Last week we all saw Cincinnati out defend the Baltimore Ravens. This week, Carson Palmer could have a career day against a shaky Carolina defense. Speaking of Carolina, Carolina just named Jimmy Clausen their starter. Why not start him against a Cincinnati defense? Look for this game to be a high scoring affair.
The two Cleveland franchises (One is current and the other is former) will be taking the field this Sunday. Cleveland did not want to start out at 0-2 coming into this week and Baltimore should be 2-0 coming into this week if not for the 5 field goals that was kicked against them last week. Look for this to be an ugly war and for Baltimore to come out on top.
Dallas is trying to figure out what is going wrong for them. Houston is trying to figure out what they are doing right. These two teams are headed into different directions. Dallas is going downhill in a hurry and Houston is climbing up hill. Why not see if the theory is right as these two teams face each other in Houston this week?
Detroit is coming into this week without their star quarterback. He was put on the sidelines in week one. Minnesota is trying to find their identity. This is a good week to find it as they take on the Lions.
The 49ers are coming off of a battle against the Saints and the Chiefs are trying to make a 3-0 start. If San Francisco plays tough again, they could find themselves in first place in the NFC North.
Look for New England and New Orleans to kill their opponents this week.
Washington just lost a heart breaker against Houston last week on the road. ST Louis also lost a heart breaker against Oakland. Washington should win this week against ST Louis.
Philly and Jacksonville will be facing each other this week. The Eagles almost lost to Detroit last week. The Jaguars got crushed by the San Diego Chargers last week. Why not put these 1-1 teams in a battle to see which team is headed up hill?
It looks like Oakland found their quarterback last week. It also looks like Arizona is trying to find their own identity. Look for Oakland to come up with a huge win in Arizona this week.
San Diego made a statement last week against Jacksonville. Seattle saw the statement that Denver made last week. Look for Seattle to bounce back and play strong against San Diego this week.
Indianapolis and Denver should be a very good match up after seeing the two teams play last week. Both teams made statements last week. Peyton proved why he is the better Manning last week and Denver also showed why they have one of the best defenses last week. This should be a great matchup. Look for Denver to come out on top in what should be a close game.
It’s strange how Sunday Night Games are now the marquee matchups in the NFL now. It used to be Monday Nights when everyone watched football. Remember that game where all of Giants Stadium was empty while Miami was killing the Jets? Then, the Jets made that great comeback. Well, now these two teams could put together another great story as they face each other on Sunday Night.
Monday Night Football is always good. We all just watched a great game between the Saints and the 49ers last night. This week will be the Packers and Bears. Last year’s week one loss was the funeral for the Bears. This year it’s a little bit different. Both teams are entering week three at 2-0. All eyes should be on this game as the two teams renew their rival in Chicago. I’m still in love with Green Bays defense and I’m also in love with Aaron Rogers.
