The Fantasy Football season is rolling into Week 3 and it may be time to make some roster moves for some. Draft picks not working out? injured players to replace on your roster? Benched starters on your roster? Let’s have a look at some players that may be available in your league for a pick up, in no particular order.

Quarterback

Josh Freeman- While his 50 percent in completions this last weekend doesn’t make Freeman someone you are looking to start in your league, he can make a solid backup with some upside. His connection with rookie Mike Williams is showing some early spark with good things to come. He went undrafted in May leagues so he should be available to you. Check out his match up for your bye week if you need a filler.

Bruce Gradkowski- Nothing is official yet, but Gradkowsk could soon be the starting QB for the Raiders. He led the Raiders to a win over the Rams this last weekend. Doesn’t sound like much, but there is a good chance that Jason Campbell was not going to be able to do it. Like Freeman, Gradkkowski can make a good bye week filler if you are weak at QB2. If you are interested, keep an eye on this one as Al Davis may veto a switch.

Longshots…

Jimmy Clausen and Ryan Fitzpatrick are both getting a nob in favor of ineffective starters in Carolina and Buffalo. You would have to be pretty hard up to cut a backup QB for these guys, but they are worth a watch and could help the production for players around them.

Running Back

Jason Snelling- It is officially settled, it appears, as to who will be Michael Turner’s back up and the third down back in Atlanta. While Snelling is not a real threat to Turner’s job he is valuable enough for that spot on your roster that many reserve for possible injury replacements to fantasy studs.

John Kuhn- There is a reason that Brandon Jackson has not made more of an impact in his career in Green Bay. The Packers may feel that Jackson is better suited to share time with a back, like say...John Kuhn, instead of getting a full load. Kuhn should at least get the goal line work. Waiver Wire Watchers swooped in on Jackson last week, Kuhn should still be there. Many feel there is a trade in the wings for Marshawn Lynch, but trading of draft picks is not a typical Green Bay move.

Mike Tolbert- If interested in a guy like Tolbert, he falls into that role we mentioned earlier of filling a roster spot, waiting for the starter to go down. Some guys already do this with Darren Sproles. Ryan Mathews is not going to lose many carries, but it appears that Tolbert could get goal line work as he scored a short yardage TD before Mathews went out.

Wide Receiver

Earl Bennett- Devin Aromashodu was the Bear of choice by many fantasy football drafters. It appears that after his Week 1 performance he is now a special teamer. Enter Earl Bennett. We are still not sold on the Bears offense working every week, but when things go like they did in Week 2, Bennett could be a nice WR for you to have in PPR leagues.

Louis Murphy/Darrius Heyward-Bey- As mentioned above, the Raiders could have a change at the QB position. If this change does happen, things could look up for these guys on the outside. Gradkowski hit them both five times in his time in the second half, including a TD to Murphy. Murphy went off the table in more drafts, but still could be available in your league. Heyward-Bey on the other hand was often undrafted and should be sitting there.

Kevin Walter- Walter has always seemed to be a reliable low end WR. If Andre Johnson were to ever miss any time you could see Matt Schaub lean a bit on Walter more. We wouldn’t make any major drops to add him just yet, but if you have room you could consider it. Otherwise watch him this week and see if he plays a nice role even with Johnson in the lineup again.
