With all hopes of bringing home a Medal in the Olympics this year looking dim, Canada looks to one bright spot in the Men's Eight Rowing team.

They finished a full boat length ahead of their closest follower yesterday, but it didn't start well as they had their Bow Ball knocked off by the starting gate, which would normally result in a disqualification for safety reasons.  However, they were allowed to race after indicating the problem to the judges.

Too bad for Canada the problem weren't over yet.  After Australia's rudder jammed and the crew rowed into Canada's lane at about the 750 meter mark they had their work cut out for them. But, the team was unfazed by this and began pulling away.

When at the 1,000 meter mark Canada was ahead by a full boat length and decided to lay back as not to waste any energy going into the final race.

Hopefully they are able to keep this up and bring home the gold. Good Luck! Make us proud boys!
