As we edge closer to the kick-off of the English Premier League, "Have Your Say" talks about the transfer activity of Arsenal and the chances of The Gunners to win the EPL.
Jose Mourinho stated that Arsenal lack from squad depth. With a squad "full of boys", Arsenal are not good enough to win the EPL according to Mourinho.
In this edition, Bleacher Report's own Shyam Parthasarathi.
Do you think that Arsenal is ready for next season?
Well, I think so. In terms of depth, Arsenal have never had a deep enough squad so, God forbid, if injuries to come at the wrong time - we'd be in a lot of trouble. But, pre-season is a time to stay positive and especially after some good showings in pre-season, I think that Arsenal is ready. It's just getting the sharpness back in time for the start of the season and I think that the team is only a couple of games away from that.
What deals would you have liked Arsenal to make?
I still think that Arsenal have one more deal to make. I think that a central midfielder will be bought and with Arsene Wenger suggesting time and again that we're "one body short", it's only a matter of time before he buys a defensive midfielder. It may be Xabi Alonsoor Gokhan Inler - the name really doesn't bother me because as far as I'm concerned, Wenger has an eye for talent like no other manager in the League and he will know exactly what to do when the time comes.
I'm also satisfied that the Emmanuel Adebayor saga is over. It was getting on my nerves, like it would've done on most Arsenal fans'. But, the fact that he's going to stay at Arsenal means that the stability is maintained and that is of utmost importance. He scored a couple of good goals against Ajax last night and I'm sure that he will want to win Arsenal fans over with his displays. This should ensure at least another 20 goals from him this season.'
Overall, I'm fairly satisfied with the deals that Wenger has made. He's brought in Aaron Ramsey and Samir Nasri and don't forget the returning of Carlos Vela. Amaury Bischoff might not feature regularly, but I suppose that he has enough talent to make a mark on the Carling Cup. Wenger's also brought in a very solid prospect in the form of Francis Coquelin, 17 years of age, who is a defensive midfielder.
Who do you think is most ready to win the EPL?
That question is something which no one can answer definitively. Before the season kicks off, I suppose every fan will stick to his/her guns and say that his/her team is the most ready. But, in all fairness I do think that the title race begins as a genuine four-horse race. I think that with Manchester United having a short squad themselves and with Chelsea changing some personnel - Arsenal and Liverpool have what it takes to catch up, if not beat both the teams.
As far as Arsenal is concerned, if the team manages to be fit for most of the season (especially the final leg), I think that we should be fine. I still believe that Bacary Sagna's injury last year against Chelsea cost us the match and the season. Overall, I think that Wenger's priority this season will be to win one trophy after three trophy less seasons. If that happens to be the Premier League or Champions League, I think that all Arsenal fans will be happy.
Can Arsenal challenge for the title?
Should they have signed more players? Who?
