Troy Smith: How About a Full Game?

IconLet the kid play. Give him more than mopping up the dwindling minutes of a blowout.

Seeing how the Baltimore Ravens' season is over, I think its time to see what Troy Smith can do.

He looked very aware of what was needed of him: showing Kyle Boller the meaning of "no mistakes."

With nothing left to lose, but much to gain, Brian Billick should let the youngster loose.

With everyone knowing how big of a no-show Boller is, and how injury-prone McNair is, wouldn't it be nice to have a reliable number-two guy?

Some players just play better in live-game situations.  Let us see what he can do.

When the Raiders unleash Russell—even if it's just for one game—it will better his chances of growing as an NFL player.

So the Ravens should play Smith next week and show the league what he is made of—because if they don't play him, they must eventually trade or release him.

Wouldn't it be better to know if he holds any value first?

Not only to other teams, but to the Baltimore Ravens.
