The Charlotte Bobcats waived veteran center Erick Dampier yesterday, voiding one of the NBA's most unique contracts and avoiding the luxury tax. Dampier is in the last year of a seven-year deal, $73 million deal, but the $13 million for this season wasn't guarantee because he failed to meet the playing time requirements. Now Dampier is a free agent and could sign with any NBA team. He has good size for a pro center and will help lopez with rebounding and blocking shots. Lopez lack this a lot during the regular season last year. The Nets need to put fear down the middle of the lane. GM Billy King should look in to this matter immediately. I sure a NBA team will pick up Dampier before the season start.
