Extreme Championship Wrestling or Extremely Crappy Wrestling?

ECW, the land of extreme, where it rained kendo sticks and chairs.  This is where you separated the men from the boys.  ECW was a company that wanted you to see what the wrestlers can do with no rules, and with more weapons than a hardware store.  Where names like RVD, Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, Tazz, and Rhino screamed throughout the bingo halls.

But what about now? Is ECW still the land of extreme, or has it gone all cute and cuddly on us?  We used to have wrestlers like Sandman as our ECW champion, facing up against the likes of Justin Creddable, but now we have for ECW's main event at Summer Slam as  Matt Hardy vs Mark Henrey.

The only thing I can say about this is I like the new belt.  ECW has gone soft on the public—all of the matches used to be extreme rules, but now we get one extreme match a week if we the fans are lucky.

With the draft I was hoping that we would see some new life from ECW with Kane as their champion, but I was wrong.  I can only hope that ECW can take a turn for the better because I don't see how it could get any worse.
