Another dominating performance by the front four again in this game. They consistently controlled the line of scrimmage and forced poor throws.  They do an incredible job of collapsing the pocket and never letting the QB get his eyes down field. They got their hands up and in his face constantly and it's a huge luxury to be able to consistently rush throws with only 4 guys coming. Binns returning was noticeable and gives Iowa 6 solid guys to use up front to help keep their guys fresh. Daniels played quite a few downs inside and Ballard bumped outside occasionally in this game and will give Iowa some flexibility with their looks. Clayborn drew a fair number of double teams again this week and when he was left 1 on 1 he mostly had his way with a pretty good OT in Osemele from ISU.

Nielson played his second quality game in a row this week and really looks like he's settling into his role nicely.  He has a good presence in his underneath zone coverage and played the outside run game pretty well again this week.

Tarpinian had a solid first game here as he played disciplined and tackled well for having a broken hand. He looks like the veteran he is in pass coverage as well, riding routes to the next zone and quickly recovering back to crossers or backs.

Hunter also played like veteran in this one as he made a lot of tackles in this one. He played a solid game and looks to have the most range of the Iowa linebackers.

For the most part the corners played well in this one. Arnaud was under constant heat and really made few  throws for them to make a play on. For the most part Arnaud attacked the middle of the field and stayed away from the corners. Prater has the coverage skills to run with about anyone on the outside and he does a nice job holding the edge against the run as well. He looked to be 90% or better in this one and his only real issue is his size which doesn't seem to bother him much.Hyde hardly saw the ball thrown his way in this one but he did a good job taking care of his zone. His run support was quality in this one as well.

Sash looked like he was trying to take someone's head off all day. He looked impatient and wanted to make big plays, but needs to consistently break down, watch RB's hips, drive through and wrap up. I would guess this clears up after this one. Greenwood had an excellent day as he kept everything in front of him in the passing game and picked off a errant throw. He came up and supported the run when he had the chance.

I didn't grade the last two series of the game as it was a garbage time drive against Iowa's 3rd stringers. Not really much to be learned from those drives other than Iowa's young guys showed that they have potential there.

+1 Excellent job of getting his long arms up here as he realizes he can’t get to the QB and bats down the 3rd down pass to stop the drive. S3
+1 Great job beating the tackle here as he flies in and doesn’t let him look down field at all on 4th down. S6

Overall: +2

+1 Beats his block and is instantly in the back field. Penetration disrupts the running play and it goes for no gain. S7
+1 Great penetration again disrupts the run play and it goes only a short gain S7

Overall: +2

Overall: +3

+1 Huge hit on Robinson here to open the game. Big time play. S1
+1 Just dominates the guard in the twist here as he just overpowers him, collapses the pocket and shoves him back into the QB as Klug gets the sack. S2
+1 Flat out beats Osemele around the corner and he had inside help here as well. Great ability shown here as he takes the edge when the OT's only job was to hold the edge. S5
+1 Beats his block here on the twist and forces the high and off throw which is picked off. S7
+1 Shows a great burst around the edge here as he bends around the T and puts a shot into Arnaud. S10

Overall: +5

Overall: +1

+1 Nice coverage on the TE here as he almost comes up with an INT. S3
+1 Great job attacking the arrow route here as he put a shot into the WR and limited him to a 3 yard gain S5
+1 Great job of sinking into his zone here and reading the QB’s eyes and making the INT. Got a piece of the WR on the way by and then makes the play on the ball. S8

Overall: +3

+1 Great job of wading through the trash here and tracking the ball carrier and laying a shot on him in the seam. S3
+1 Nice work here as he’s in man to man with the RB over the middle and he takes him to the turf as soon as he catches the short pass and this stops the drive.  S4

Overall: +2

+1 Very good job of being patient and waiting for the back to make his cut. Finishes the play with a good solid wrap up tackle attacking forward in hole. Good disciplined defense. S2

Overall: +1

+1 Nice job covering the short zone here against the slant on third down as he makes the play on the ball and prevents a catch. S10

Overall: +1

-1 Sloppy footwork on the coverage here as he just latched onto the TE here as he made his break. Gets called for the hold here. S8
+1 Much better job in coverage on this play as he keeps his hips down and forces a bad throw as he was right in his pocket this time. S8

Overall: Push

+1 Excellent aggressive fill on the outside run play here as he steps up and makes the stop for the short gain. S6

Overall: +1

-1 Good job flying up in run support but doesn’t break down and Robinson side steps him. Needs to be more disciplined here. S3
+1 Good solid fill against run here as he flies up and hammers Robinson in the seam. S4
+1 Nice job defending the seam route here as he stays over the and puts a shot into the receiver as the ball gets there and he breaks up the pass. S5
-1 Very poor angle as he attacks Robinson on the sweep play here, gets lost in the wash and it ends up going for a big gain. Needs to take a better angle to the ball carrier. S8
-1 Fires up hard in run support again here but fails to wrap up and the back escapes and picks 3 extra yards. S9
+1 Great job attacking the running back in space here as he makes the hit on the back for no gain as he wraps up and holds on this time. S10

Overall: Push

+1 Nice job of playing the ball here as the gets the INT on the overthrow. S7

Overall: +1

+1 Textbook coverage here as he steps in front of the throw after sitting on the hip of the receiver here. Nice INT S6

Overall: +1
