Rick Story and Johny Hendricks are set to fight each other, and the bout will take place at The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale on Dec. 4, 2010.
The news was originally reported by MMAjunkie.com, but Bleacher Report later confirmed the facts from sources close to the situation.
Story (11-3) is on the rise in the UFC's 170-pound division. In his last outing, the fighter out of Brave Legion disposed of top-10 welterweight, Dustin Hazelett, at UFC 117 with a second round TKO victory over the Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist.
The win was Story's fourth in a row in the UFC.
Hendricks (9-0) has been on quite the tear of his own. Undefeated in his career, the Oklahoma State wrestling standout has, like Story, won four in a row in the UFC. UFC 117 was the stage for Hendrick's last campaign, where he scored a second round TKO over Charlie Brenneman.
This bout carries a lot of weight when determining what welterweight will be in the mix for contention for Georges St. Pierre's title in 2011. A win for either of these fighters will surely catapult them to the main card of a Pay-Per-View next year.
Expect to hear the names Story and Hendricks a little more over the next 12 to 15 months.
The Ultimate Fighter Finale takes place on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
