Stanzi turned in an excellent game this week. His only mistakes were low risk ones and his accuracy was quite good in this one. Again this week he checked down a number of times and let his guys make plays. His throws down the field looked great and his mechanics on deep balls were perfect.  He did a nice job selling his PA fakes this week as well.

He rolled up some solid numbers in this one as Iowa put it on cruise control in the 3rd quarter. Stanzi made it look very easy against a less than full strength secondary for ISU. Not sure it would have mattered much if ISU had been full strength but Iowa will face much better secondaries down the road.

Iowa opened up the playbook more than last week but still showed pretty standard route combinations. They used a variety of different crossing routes but again ran many simple outs and hitches to go along with their standard bootleg package.  It will be interesting to see what they work in against a quality opponent in Arizona next week.

+1 Excellent use of his checkdown here as he gets Reisner the ball in space and he makes something happen. D1 Play 3
+1 Nice job standing in the pocket and delivering the ball to the hole in the zone as he takes a shot from the defender. D1 Play 9
+1 Nice job of being patient here as he waits for the crosser and then delivers a very accurate throw for a TD. D1 Play 13
+1 Good read here as he throws this pass away from the safety help. Nice timing on the throw on scissor route to McNutt here. Delivers the ball out in front and lets his man run to it in stride and it helps set up the big play here. D3 Play 1
+1 Great job selling the PA fake here as he boots back to the short side and hits Reisner for the TD. D3 Play 4
+1 Excellent throw off the PA here and he put a perfect deep ball up for the DJK to run to. Dropped incomplete but an excellent throw. D4 Play 1
-1 Throws the crossing route across the middle behind DJK here. Needs to lead him on that throw and give him a chance to make a play. D4 Play 3
+1 Great touch on the throw as he lays it out for Reisner and it goes for a big gainer. Looked very comfortable here and this was a perfect throw as he had another easy read here with a single high safety against a scissor route. D7 Play 2
+1 Excellent throw again here on the deep crossing route to DJK. D9 Play 1
-1 Poor throw to his checkdown receiver here as it’s low and behind him. D9 Play 7
