Cowboys get the ball first. Jones starts in the backfield. 7 yard run and I can already hear Paxton saying "Game Over Man". Witten drops a pass. What?
Lions refuse to let us stall and go offsides to give us the first. And Jones runs for 8 yards. And another 7. Shaun Rogers limps off and Matt Millen starts to make calls about trading him for a reciever. Romo completes to Witten for another first.
Cowboys are making easy 7 to 9 yard gain every play. It looks like when you are playing Madden with the sound off while talking on the phone to your girlfriend. "Yes I am listening to you. No, I'm not playing Madden." And then she tells you about her friend's cute brother...What! Jones tackled for a loss of 3. "Don't worry I don't like him like that." Missed field goal. Girls always mess up Madden.
Commercial break. If I was aq professional sportscaster i would have some sort of stat showing how often the Cowboys score on their first drive of the game. Maybe Joe and Troy will hook us up after the break....Robot football player...nope.
Lions with the ball. Kitna asked to have Jesus Christ listed as a starting wide reciever. League said no. Long Kevin Jones run puts them on the right side of the 50. Jones looks jacked up for this game. Duckett in to give him a breather....runs for a touchdown....uhhh...Hamlin and Williams manage to take the "safety" out of their positions. Lions up 7-0.
We got commercial. I am strangely confident we will win this game. Oh that Dude commercial came on. Wasn't that a comedian's routine about 10 years ago? Can't remember which one.
Back for the kickoff then right back to commercial. That annoys the hell out of me how they do that. They show a Cowboy defender yelling to his teammates on the bench just before break. I have a feeling they are only hearing the Charlie Brown teacher voice.
Barber in. Barber hates the ground. Just watch how hard he hits it. Rogers is back in for Detroit just in time to smack back a low and lazy one from Romo. Weird motion from Witten. He ends up in the backfield like a fullback. And Romo gets sacked. Punt and good coverage with a nice tackle. I love solid tackling. I love it when a guy gets tackled so well that he has a look on his face like you just told him you felt up his sister.
Commercial break. That pony cellphone commercial. The girl could probably sell the pony for meat and use the money to buy whatever cellphone she wants.
Back from break. The Lions returner is still down. His head slammed into the ground. I swear half the skill position players in the NFL don't know how to fall. Tuck that chin in when your feet come off the ground. The NFL should have some professional wrestlers come in and give lessons.
Commercial and we come back to Troy Walters walking off on his own. Lions ball. Momentum is full on Detroit's side now. They are the ones getting easy gains now. Detroit's TE drops an easy one. 6 figures to drop balls I could catch. 3rd and long and Mike Furry makes a great catch and scramble for the 1st. And a roughing the passer on Ware. Hey Ware, try roughing the running back please.
Lions drive to the goal line. 1st and goal. Jones stopped. 2nd and goal. Kitna went just a bit too high for his reciever. incomplete. They pass again? incomplete, but a flag. Why would they not run? Illegal formation. declined and 4th down. Lions should go for it. They need to be aggresive. But they kick the field goal instead. The Lions were running all over the Cowboys, but only run once out of 3 downs at the goal line. Baffling.
Commercial break. Mac and PC commercial. They should actually do a boxing match between those two for charity.
Back from commercial. Troy Walters out for the day with a concussion. Miles Austin almost takes it all the way, but the kicker trips him up. They should have a drill in practice where a lineman throws a kicker at the ankles of the returners so they can practice staying on their feet. getting tripped up by a kicker must be like choking on a noodle.
Commercial break. I bet the Geico gecko is totally pissed the Cavemen got their own show and he didn't.
