Recap: Mendenhall Secures Win For Steelers

Mendenhall rushed for 120 yards vs the Falcons

Rashard Mendenhall's 50 yard touchdown in overtime secured the win for the Pittsburgh Steelers on their opening day at Pittsburgh. Mendenhall rushed for 120 yards on 22 carries and a game winning touchdown. He also caught 2 balls for 15 yards on the day.

Dennis Dixon showed that he could be a starter in the NFL passing for 236 yards on 18 completions. Although he threw an interception, he showed poise and confidence in himself and look very solid at the QB position. Hines Ward looked solid with 106 yards receiving on the day.

Bryant McFadden lead the Steel City with 12 tackles. Lawrence Timmons, and James Farrior added 9 and 6 respectively. 

Roddy White looked like a true pro bowler with a career high 13 catches and 111 yards for the Falcons. The Falcons (0-1) face the Arizona Cardinals next week. While the Steelers (1-0) travel to Tennessee to face the Titans (1-0) next week.
