Darren McFadden: The NFL World Likes What It Sees so Far

Well, it's like a breath of fresh air. Tuning into ESPN, the NFL Network, Sirius Radio's NFL Station, and hearing how everyone should be watching McFadden. The big deal, and I agreed with it was how is he gonna do in traffic "with the big boys"?  Is he gonna fumble the ball? How are his legs gonna hold up?  I was asking the same questions. From what I saw Friday night, and mind you he wasn't out there that long, I loved what I saw.  Just was he was hit by the 49er defense, his legs kept moving, pushing for that extra yardage.  His quickness and agility. He is gonna be the pride of this organization for a long time.  I can't wait to see more of Darren McFadden.

And to add to the above statement about all of the networks talking about McFadden, they were also talking about the Raiders a little differently too. There's a spark to the conversation that hasn't been there the last 5 years. I am excited about the future of this organization.  Now don't get me wrong, there are things that definitely need work, like our receiving core.  They are also talking about Michael Waddell, but he isn't gonna be starting anyway.   The big one is JaMarcus Russell. I'm not sure on the reasoning about only keeping him in for that short of a time, but yet, they have to find their #2 QB and not get their #1 injured. That will definitely be something to keep an eye on.   And Johnnie Lee Higgins, wow, did he definitely improve from last year. I wonder if they gave him an ultimatum or something. I definitely wasn't happy with his performance last year.

That's all until next week after we play in Tennessee.
