College Football Lines: Troy Double Digit Dog at Oklahoma State

This Saturday the Oklahoma State Cowboys will host the Troy Trojans in non-conference action, and both teams will be looking to start the 2010 season 2-0. Oklahoma State kicked off the year with a 65-17 win over Washington State, while the Trojans kicked a last second field goal to beat Bowling Green 30-27. If you are interested in betting on the game this weekend, the current college football odds have the Cowboys 14-point favorites over the Trojans, with the total sitting at 61-points.
The Cowboys got a huge game out of running back Kendall Hunter to start off the 2010 season, as Hunter ran for 257 yards and four touchdowns in the Cowboys blowout win over Washington State. The Cowboys also got a solid game out of junior quarterback Brandon Weeden, as he completed 22 of 30 passes for 218 yards and three touchdowns. All three of those touchdowns went to wide out Justin Blackmon, who finished up with eight catches for 125 yards.
Troy also had some success running the ball in their first game of the season, as the Trojans racked up 211 yards on the ground against Bowling Green. Sophomore Shawn Southward was the leading rusher for the Trojans, as he finished with 74 yards and a touchdown on 14 attempts. Freshman quarterback Corey Robinson threw for 252 yards and a touchdown in the win, but had two big interceptions that kept Bowling Green in the game.
The Trojans defense made the play of the game, as Tony Davis intercepted a pass with just a little over a minute to go to set up the game winning drive. The Trojans allowed Bowling Green running back Willie Geter to run for 93 yards and a touchdown, and figure to have one heck of a time trying to stop Hunter this Saturday.
Looking at the Odds: I am all over the Cowboys to cover the 14-point spread against the Trojans on Saturday. In the last meeting between these two teams in 2008, the Cowboys beat up on the Trojans 55-24, and I think it will be a similar situation this weekend. I don’t think Troy has any sort of answer for the Cowboys offensive attack that features one of the best backs in the country and a pretty solid combo in the passing game between Weeden and Blackmon. My final score prediction is Oklahoma State 44, Troy 24.
