Wally Backman led the Brooklyn Cyclones to the New-Penn League championship series with a 6-4 win over Jamestown in Game 3 of the league semifinals last night at MCU park in Coney Island. Is Backman getting close to the Mets manager job? People is speculating that Cyclones skipper Wally Backman is about to get the top job in Flushing. And sure enough, Mets owner Jeff Wilpon stops by MCU Park on Thursday night for a nice talk. Do you think they talking about renovations to MCU park? I Backman is closer to his goal of being the new Mets manager. I see Wally Backman has a great gift to work wonders with minor league players. The players seem to like Backman type of play. Darrell Ceciliani and Cory Vaughn's are two players that play like Backman in his hey day. Time to get rid of Omar Minaya and his bad front office moves. Wally Backman would bring the play of 1986, but the Wilpons must wake up and smell the coffee.
