According to WEEI Radio in Boston, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was involved in a car accident this morning.
According to the reports, the accident occurred on the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Gloucester Street in Boston.
Brady did not receive hospital treatment according to ESPNBoston.com and is now en route to Gillette Stadium.
Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald told The Boston Globe that a sedan and a passenger van collided at 6:34 a.m. Sources told the newspaper that Brady got out of his car but that the "Jaws of Life" had to be used to free a passenger in the van. MacDonald told the newspaper that a traffic light was also struck.
The Globe also said that Brady was in the van and treated at the scene.
This story comes after reports have surface this week that Brady is close to signing a contract extension with the Patriots. It has been rumored that he will sign a 4 year deal worth $18 to 20 per season.
