If you're a Chargers fan and/or drafted some of the key offensive weapons, you should be ecstatic when you check out the 2010 Match-Up analysis on the next slide.

Based on the rush and pass defenses rankings from last year, no team is better suited or armed in the NFL to put up lots of offensive yards.  The only thing holding them back is if their own D shuts down offenses and they take it easy on opponents.

San Diego Chargers 2010 Match-Up Analysis

In my analysis of the San Diego Chargers’ 2010 match-ups, I looked at the run and pass defenses rankings from last year.  The worst defenses are color-coded green (IE, favorable match-up) and the best are red (unfavorable match-up).

We can see that the Bolts have 7 run match-ups where they face a team ranked worse than 19th.  Based on last-year’s rankings, they only face stiff run Ds at the end of the season, so if Mathews can stay healthy, Chargers fans will get over LT in the truest way a great bandwagon city moves on.

Even better are the 8 poor pass defenses they’ll face this year. Like the Broncos, the Chargers picked a great time to cut ties with a star receiver, but there are plenty of options. If TE Gates stays healthy he could deliver the best stats of his career
