Ok so my last article on predictions for the new season were not entirely true , I upset some Newcastle United and Bolton Wanderers Fans by suggesting they would be relegated and Liverpool fans by suggesting they wont be in the top four .

The main reason I wrote that article is because I'm bored of the same top four and same bottom three year in year out , I wanted to see a change , a shake up and well , I know that wont happen ,the other article's URL is:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/37700-new-2008-2009-football-season-predictions-for-the-top-flight

Ok so let's get Cracking on my real predictions for the new 2008/2009 season , these are my real thought's and if anyone gets narked off by them , so what I cant please everyone, counter them with a prediction of your own .

Premier League Final Standings :

1. Manchester United ,

I really do believe Manchester United Will retain the crown again making it three in a row . After Ronaldo was confirmed to be staying then with the energetic youthful likes of Rooney , Tevez , Nani , Anderson , Carrick and Hargreaves mixed with the experience of Scholes , Giggs , New signing Petrucci and Van Der Sar United still look formidable .

2. Arsenal .

Yes I was telling the truth when I said United and Arsenal would be the top two .Like I said last year's injury to Eduardo spoilt the season , how do you go on with images like that etched in your skull ? , especially young Fabregas who was first on the scene , he was horrified , but this year I believe Cesc will be on Fire after winning Euro 2008 with Spain , he is a star in the making for sure . They will be a much stronger team this year .

3. Chelsea.

After defeat on both fronts to Man United last season Chelsea will be determined to make an Impact again , I can't see the Title going back to Stamford Bridge this year , Maybe next year . I feel it won't be a complete disaster for Chelsea , The Carling cup will move back across London and a Last 8 in Europe spot too ,weather they can go one better than last year remains to be seen .

4. Liverpool .

Yep you guessed it , the usual same old boring top four will be rounded off by Liverpool , they have bought Robbie Keane to partner Fernando Torres up front and a few other players who to be honest I've never heard of so I'll reserve my judgement on them until I see them in action , it will be the same old cries of " This is our year " , err when was the last time that was said ? I do feel Liverpool have a strong team but not one to challenge for the title just yet .

5. Tottenham .

Ok so I put spurs in the top four in my last article , that was somewhat optimistic , they have been getting rid of players like there is no tomorrow , they have signed a few decent players in Dos Santos , Mudric , Bentley and Gomez , but is that enough to break the top four ? Not this year no , fifth will still be some achievement though .

6. Portsmouth .

I did'nt give Harry Redknapp's men the credit they deserve on my last article either , they are turning into a major force , they are already in the charity shield , so they could start the season where they

  1. The thing about predictions is what you said "so what I cant please everyone, counter them with a prediction of your own".

Well, they aren't pathetic predictions by any count...Everton haven't signed anybody but they are close to doing so and they should do better then nine..

Stoke are probably doomed, It's high time Newcastle get in on the act...maybe number 7...United to take the title..agreed...It might be Chelsea-Arsenal-Liverpool to follow..

  2. Thats the one mate. I cant keep everyone happy , unless your a Man U or Arsenal Fan .

I had to do this one because i didnt give some teams the right positions , Newcastle as bad as they was most of last season are not a Championship team , and being a passionate lot that they are i felt i best let them know what i really think . .

Pompey i had them way down the table and that was wrong , they are better than my original placement . .

Bolton , i wasnt too far off i feel , they will be in a dogfight i reckon , i think they will survive .....just .

Everton can do better than 9th , i know they can , they need players first , i hope my Ex doesnt come on here coz she is an Everton Fan ha ha ( thats not my reason for 9th tho ) .

United to take it , thats just logical . It will be Us , Chelsea or Arsenal who take the title .......I say MUFC tho .

Liverpool , I dont really mind where they finish As long as its not top . Nothing would make me more happy than to see them 20th ha ha .

Cheers for your comment salaar .

  3. Pretty good prediction, I'd like to come back to this article when the seasons done to check out how accurate you were.

I seriously doubt Arsenal have what it takes to finish above Chelsea and Liverpool this season though, their recent crop of youngsters just won't cut it on a consistent basis against the big boys for me and as for Adebayor and Fabregas carrying the team...well not really likely to happen I predict a 4th or 5th place for them this season.

  4. Yeah i think so too. You should check my first one out it caused a MASSIVE storm .

It would be interesting to see how close i can get to the real standings .

About Arsenal , I just feel Wenger and the lads will be majorly Disappointed with Last year and will be looking to get off to a flyer , and i think they can do . they will be relying on Fabregas for holding that Midfield together , Samir Nasri is a good player , very good in fact .

But of course you are entitled to your opinion and its respectable , i just feel this could be a decent Year for The Gunners .

Thanks for your comments mate .

  5. Some very good predictions.

I think Villa will be higher than you have them, they will most certainly finish above Man City. I think they are also better on paper than Portsmouth, who send me to sleep everytime I watch them.

Im also willing to put a wager on Stoke finishing above Hull.

Last but not least. Chelsa should be top. Putting Arsenal above them is laughable.

  6. Steve ,

I wont take your wager on stoke , Why ? because its the EPL and almost anything can happen , look at Reading in their first season , we all expected them to flop and they survived two seasons , It could happen again .

Pompy may send us to sleep whe they play , but they get the wins and draws needed to be top 7 material . evenif it is only 1-0's , its like Harry said ," if we play crap football and take 3 points,Im happy "

You see i Cant see Chelsea taking the title back this year , i think We will do that for the 3rd in a row . Chelsea next year maybe , but im hoping it stays at home where it belongs .

And Arsenal , i think thats a little disrespectful to discount Wengers men from 2nd , I mean they have won this league One more time than Chelsea, so Why cant they finish above them ???

  7. Hope your predictions are right.I miss Fergie and Wenger at each others throats!

    1. Anthony,

In terms of Stoke, they have made some good signings since promotion. They have strengthened at the back with the acquisition of Sorensen and up front with Kitson. Hull have brought in noone I see of any quailty. Stoke will not finish bottom. The wager is till open to the floor.....

Aston Villa will finish above Portsmouth. They have brought in a great keeper in Friedel and strengthened their defence with Shorey, Young and Cueller from Rangers. Not to mention Steve Sidwell in midfield and Curtis Davis up front. I have them down in at least sixth position. Above the likes of Man City (in crisis) and Portsmouth.

I dont think it is disrespectful to Arsenal. I think Im being respectful even debating the idea they may finish third behind Chelsea and Man U. They have lost three key midfielders in Flamini, Hleb and Gilberto. Who have they brought in to cover - Aaran Ramsey. Good player but lets be honest, enough said! They have managed to keep hold of old Adebayor. Quite possibly the most overrated striker on earth. I wouldnt even be surprised if dopey Mclarens FC Twente took them close tonight!

  8. Ha ha the good old days , Pizzagate . Keane-Vieira-gate. Nistelrooy-Keown Penalty-gate. too many to mention .

We have had some magical battles with the Gunners , and i think its about time they started again , not so much the fighting but the Intense games we used to have with them .

  9. i think it could be bolten instead of hull and maybe sunderland a little higher in the table, but apart from that its a great prodiction as always in my opinion

  10. I think United are going to have a huge problem in the first 5 weeks or so... missing so many key players.
After a horrible 1-1 draw in Week 1, they'll be lucky to take even 4 points in the next 3 games away against chelsea, liverpool and portsmouth - Even less points without Berbatov.
