Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie wants to re-open contract negotiations with the club.
The Dutch forward has seen fellow forward Emmanuel Adebayor handed a bumper pay rise of late and is hoping to be rewarded with an improved deal of his own.
Van Persie has been plagued by injuries for the past two seasons, but insists that his long-term future remains at Emirates Stadium.
"I was in talks before the Euros but, hopefully, we can sit down together one of these days again."
"That is my intention, always to commit to this club, it is a great team."
"I love to play lots of combination football, so I am in the right place."
Van Persie joined the Gunners from Feyenoord in 2004 and was hailed as "the new Dennis Bergkamp."
He has displayed glimpses of brilliance during his time in North London, but was restricted to just 23 appearances in all competitions last season.

Adebayor gets it so why don't I.....Arsenal have opened up a can of worms.
Should have sold him and they wouldn't now have to give RVP a pay rise.

RvP is quality, but he doesn't deserve a pay rise, unless he can prove his fitness for this season... then he should get one...
