San Francisco 49ers Sign Troy Smith

Troy Smith wasn’t a free agent for long. Today the 49ers announced they signed Smith to a one-year deal.

The move comes with mixed reactions. To make way for Smith, the 49ers had to release Nate Davis, whom many feel could be a future star.

Regardless, Troy has a new home after a bizarre stint in Baltimore. As announced previously, the Baltimore Ravens cut Troy. An illness sidelined him in 2008. As a result, Joe Flacco took over the starting job and never looked back. Now that Troy is in San Francisco, he’ll have a familiar face waiting for him. Smith joins former Ohio State...
