The story pretty clearly here is the play of the TE's and Adam Robinson.

Robinson was more than solid all day as he broke double digit tackles, scored 3 TD's and moved the chains at will.  He showed an improved pad level and looked to be much stronger in the lower body. He consistently was moving forward in piles and seemed to be falling forward on almost all carries.  He had to dodge a pretty fair number of penetrating defenders throughout the day and only had 1 real mishap there in an otherwise perfect day. His blitz pickup also was sound all day and consistently got a hat on blitzing LB's. Great game for Mr. Robinson.

Iowa being a TE factory is the worst kept secret in the country and watching this game is another shining example why. Reisner was solid across the board, much as he was last season and he will be a consistent weapon for Stanzi work with. Brad Herman looked as natural as can be both catching passes and blocking after seeing mostly mop up time last year(goal-line sets too maybe?). Zach Derby comes outta no where and pops off a big gainer on a simple hitch over the middle. C.J. Fiedorowicz also flashed promise in this game and if he's your 4th TE you can sleep soundly knowing you're set at TE.

The WR's were sparsely used in this game and it seemed to be according the game-plan. They mostly did what they were asked to do and blocked well as a group. This a deep and talented group of WR's who possess all kinds of tools for KOK to put to use. It's almost hard to find a way to work them all into a game-plan at this point. Both DJK and McNutt should see a lot targets as they will simply over-match defenders on the perimeter.

How bout a round of applause for Paki O'Meara? I've been as hard as anyone on him, but this was his game to shine with a big special teams play and a couple of good down hill runs to finish up the game.

+1 Good leg drive and pad level on the goal line carry and he easily pushes through to the end zone. D1 Play 6
-1 Not a very good job of reacting the penetrating DT here and he bumbles into his own man and slows himself down. Needs to react to this kind of thing and account for it. D2 Play 3

+1 Quality tough running here as he busts through tackles on the draw play. D3 Play 2
+1 Great power run as he just drives the pile. Productive play and really brought the crowd noise with it. D3 play 7
+1 Another very physical run here as he just rips through arm tackles into the end zone. Did an excellent job reading his blocks here and was even better on the finish. D3 Play 8
+1 Nice job in blitz pickup here. He struggled some in this area last year and this was a good solid fill this time around. D7 Play 3
+1 Big time play here on 3rd down as he slips out of the back field and makes the catch and rumbles for a 1st down. D8 Play 6
