Can anyone explain to me how Sinorice Moss(IR), Gerris Wilkinson, and Travis Beckum made the 2010 New York Giants roster?

I can name two other players per position the Giants would have been better off with than those three stiffs.  The Giants could have easily replaced Moss with Hagan or Brown, Beckum with Pascoe or Chandler, and Wilkinson with Campbell or Johnson.

I do understand Pascoe is on the practice squad after clearing waivers, but can anyone go to sleep at night thinking Travis Beckum can play at the NFL level?  Yes, he is young and has great hands, but in a year and half, he has spent most of his time on injured reserve.

Pascoe was a great blocker with good hands. The team would be better off with him in uniform than Beckum in the training room.

Wilkinson?  Another mystery to me.  Wilkinson has had 46 tackles in four seasons.  The Giants have had him play inside and outside linebacker; however, it doesn't matter where they move him, because he can not stay healthy enough to contribute.

We could make a case for Micah Johnson, cut in Giants mini camp and recently signed by the Dolphins; or Lee Campbell, cut by the Giants in minicamp and snatched up by the Lions.Neither of these two players were even given a chance to play in pads.

The Big Blue fan base has seen four years of Wilkinson and there still waiting for something.  It seems his body has betrayed him or he has very bad luck.

Now the biggest mystery of them all...behind door number No. 83. Sinorice Moss. The  biggest second-round draft "bust" the Giants have had in 20 years (maybe Kanvis McGhee in 1991).  Moss had one catch in all of 2009 and 39 total receptions in four years. Pathetic!

Sure he's on IR...But WHY?  Sooner or later he's gonna be sucking up space.

How about his college career?  The Miami University Athletic Site posted Moss numbers.

Year G-S No. Yards Avg. TD LP
2002 12-0 3 30 10.0 0 17
2003 13-0 8 111 13.9 0 32
2004 11-4 20 351 17.5 3 63
Totals 36-4 31 492 15.9 3 63

31 total college receptions in three years.  39 total professional receptions.  Do the math.  70 receptions in 7 years!  Embarrassing. He occasionally contributes to special teams in the return game, and even those numbers aren't worth discussing.

Derek Hagan, an excellent special teams player, has 61 receptions in 5 years as pro between the Giants and the Dolphins.  Want more? Check out these staggering college statistics!  The Giants blew it here!  This guy can play.
  • He is second in Pac-10 history for career receptions - 258
  • He is second in Pac-10 career receiving yards - 3,939
  • Arizona State's all-time leader: receptions, receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, 100-yard games (18) and career receiving yards per game (78.8).
  • Hagan also caught a pass in 41 consecutive games to end his career
  • He surpassed 1,000 yards receiving in each of his final three years as a Sun Devil, leading the team each time.
3 roster spots could have drastically been improved on...and I only sit in the stands.
