Fantasy Football: NFL Week One Start/Sit: Ryan Mathews To Go Wild In Opener?

You know the NFL is ready to kick off soon, because the first installment of our famous Start/ Sit Article is here. The following are a list of players that have favorable matchups that should be in your starting lineup this week and some players that you'd probably want to avoid.

Start of the Week

San Diego Chargers RB Ryan Mathews – The rookie has a great chance to dominate his first regular season game. The Kansas City Chiefs allowed the second most points to running backs in the NFL last year and the Chargers scored 80 points in two games against the Chiefs last year.

The Chargers should have the lead early and often in this game, which should mean a lot of rushing attempts for Mathews. In addition, with WR Vincent Jackson not playing, the Chargers have more reason to run the ball. I can see him rushing for 125 yards and scoring a touchdown in his first game.

If you are looking for Seattle Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck to have a bounce-back year, do not look for him to start that comeback in Week One. The 49ers were 12th against fantasy quarterbacks last year, and I think this defense is quickly becoming one of the best in the NFL...
