Watching sports personalities during their appearances on late night talk shows give us quite a bit of insight on them.

Sometimes we get to see a whole new side to our favorite athletes and sports figures.

Take Michelle Beadle, for example. She's made many drool over her sports knowledge, while hosting SportsNation on ESPN2. But did you know she grew up in Texas, and looks great in a red dress?

Thanks to David Letterman, we know that now.

Where does she rank among the best sports-related appearances on television? Click to find out.

Here are 20 of the best talk show appearances by people in sports.

20. Dale Earnhardt and More!

Whoa!  That's a lot of NASCAR drivers.

Here are some of racing's biggest names naming off Letterman's top 10 perks of being a NASCAR driver.

19. Drew Brees

For someone that just won the Super Bowl, Drew doesn't seem to be that happy about his Letterman appearance.

Maybe he's just getting focused on the upcoming season, and making another run at a Super Bowl title.

18. LeBron James

Here's LeBron outshooting David Letterman.

I think Dave did a pretty decent job trying to keep up.

Hey LeBron, are you really proud of beating a 62-year-old man?

17. Terrell Owens

T.O.'s got his own reality show and he's not afraid to cry in front of television cameras.

He also likes to give kids advice.

Parents, make sure your kids aren't watching.

16. Hulk Hogan

Had to go way back for this clip, to the early 90s.

Before the Hulkster started wearing his jet black outfits.

And when Brooke Hogan was just 6 years old!

Gotta love the beginning, where Leno tosses a chair.

15. Chris Bosh

Bosh makes an appearance covering the NBA Finals.

No, not with the Miami Heat, but as a correspondent for Jay Leno and the Tonight Show.

Hey, if he doesn't make to the Finals this season, Jay might be nice enough to make this an annual gig for Bosh.

14. Michael Jordan

Did you know that his Airness owns 1,500 pairs of shoes?

Well that's what he tells Jay Leno, during his appearance.

Watch more of Leno and Jordan in this video.

13. Derek Jeter

Here's serial-hot-chick dater Derek Jeter naming off all the women that he's dated in one breath.

No wait, that's not what he's doing.

He's listing off the perks of being an all-star.

12. Steve Nash

Nash is great in his guest appearance on Letterman.

As a pretend-reporter, the guy is hilarious.

The former two-time MVP has a future in sportscasting.

11. Shaquille O'Neal

A dance-off with Shaquille O'Neal involved is pretty entertaining, but  a dance-off that has Shaq facing-off against Coco, that's one for the ages.

10. Hank Baskett and Kendra Wilkinson

The truth is, Hank Baskett is only famous because of his wife Kendra.

I mean, if you're watching this interview, who catches your attention?

Baskett or Kendra?

9. Serena Williams

Serena is known for her flashy outfits on the tennis court, but she's also a snazzy dresser off the court.

Here she is wearing leather for the first time ever, on national television.

Who wins in a shooting match between a bus boy and Carmelo Anthony?

Carmelo, right? But this is pop-a-shot folks and this is Ricardo the bus boy.

One of the best pop-a-shot players in the country.

7. Kobe Bryant

OK, Ricardo can beat the likes of Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, and Charles Barkley.

Think Kobe Bryant, five-time NBA champion, can take him on Jimmy Kimmel?

Ricardo's got skills.  Watch to find out.

How did Ron Artest celebrate signing with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009?

One of Jay Leno's first guests after returning to the Tonight Show was Lindsey Vonn.

Vonn's definitely one of the hottest Olympians from the Vancouver Winter Olympics.

And this appearance needs some notice, since Leno came back to late night TV that evening and Lindsey looked great wearing her gold medal.

4. Charles Barkley

Growing up in Alabama, Barkley flunked Spanish in high school. So apparently, he's made it his lifelong goal to learn Spanish.

Watch Jimmy Kimmel test out Charles' Spanish skills.

And this guy wanted to make a run at the Governor's office at one point.

3. Michelle Beadle

Michelle has the whole Internet abuzz over that red dress during her Letterman appearance.

The Beagle-maniacs were all over this video.

There's nothing sexier than a woman that can talk sports all day and look great in a red dress.

Sharapova serves up some tennis balls to Letterman and Billy Crystal later in this video.
