Agent Neil Schwartz: Darrelle Revis Agrees to Terms with New York Jets

Zach BergerCorrespondent ISeptember 6, 2010

I've said it all along.

I expected to see Darrelle Revis on the field, in a New York Jets jersey, for all 16 games of the season (barring any injuries). I told you all that he would sign a contract before the home opener against the Ravens a week from today.

Nobody believed me.

Nobody trusted me.

But now I can tell you that I cite a reliable source (not Tim Cowlishaw, or a Pittsburgh Radio Station, or AOL Fanhouse). ESPN is officially reporting it.

Oh, and we have confirmation from Darrelle himself. He posted on his Twitter: "To my family, neil, & john I love u guys I'm comin home baby!!! Revis Island LET'S GO."

And tonight I contacted his agent, Neil Schwartz, who confirmed that they agreed to terms with the team and that Revis will be returning to the field. He couldn't give me a number, but a number of sources are reporting that the contract is for four years and $48 million.

There are only preliminary reports of the deal right now, but I heard it from the man that was doing the negotiating, so this is a promise from me to you that the holdout has ended.

So, sit back, relax, and get ready for the Green Monster that's coming for the Baltimore Ravens on Monday.
