Most of you are probably thinking, "Greg Oden can't be Rookie of the Year because he was drafted last year." But the rule is that a player can be Rookie of the Year if they have never played in a single NBA game, which Oden hasn't.
So we know by the rules Oden could be Rookie of the Year. But the question is does he have enough talent?
The were a lot of great players drafted this year that would be hard for Oden to play better than, i.e. Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley, O.J Mayo, and the Lopez brothers.
But Oden was picked first the year before, so he definitely has a chance. If it is not Oden, I'd bet that it's either going to be Rose, Beasley, or Mayo.

Oden is the favorite to win rookie of the year. Beasely and Rose have a shot, but, given the high expectations we have already placed on Oden, he should run away with the trophy.

he has a great shot especially with portland being a good team. He or mayo will win.

How do you know thats the rule? I recall in 2000 when Speedy Claxton sat out a season due to injury he was ineligible for Rookie of the Year because he was on a roster.
