Toronto Maple Leafs Home Ice Boast Brand New Red Line Design
As if there weren’t already enough Maple Leafs displayed all around the Air Canada Center, the management at the A.C.C has decided to add a few more. As of yesterday, the red center line that divides the ice rink in half has been repainted to adorn a multitude of red maple leaves.
This new design is in honour of the brave men and women that defend our great nation overseas, and risk their lives in the name of that sacred maple leaf we carry on our flag. It’s very fitting that this would be done to the red line of the home ice of the Toronto Maple Leafs. It’s a way of taking the team that carries our national logo on their jerseys and making their home just a bit more Canadian.
Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment chief executive officer Tom Anselmi had this to say about the new change. “It seemed like just another fun little way to express the patriotism of our team, our organization and our fans," and I couldn’t agree with him more.
