Brett Favre is a Jet. In the words of Michael Scott, this is a win-win-win situation. It's good for the Jets, it's good for the Packers, and it's good for Favre.
The Jets need a kyubie (I call QBs "kyubies"), as neither Chad Pennington nor Kellen Clemens have yet to pan out. They hope Clemens may eventually be their starter in the future, but bringing in a proven veteran for a year or two never hurts the process.
As for the Packers, they rid themselves of this huge headache, and can move forward as planned. True, Favre at this point is still better than Aaron Rodgers, but the Packers had planned to move on, and he was only impeding their plan. Plus, they move him out of the division and out of the conference, so he can't come back to bite them.
As for Favre, he gets to play for a team that won't challenge his position as top dog. That's all he really wanted in the end. Plus, Jet green isn't all that different from Packer green, so he probably won't look too awkward in the uni.
