Remember a few years ago the new rule was that the drivers can't stand on their car after winning a race because it messes with post race inspection? Well regardless, I call it ridiculous. I realize someone, even a NASCAR expert, understands that post race inspections keep the competition fair. But I find it a waste of time and effort.

Those who have ever been to a NASCAR race or seen one on TV know that officials watch those races teams with a strict eye. So what is the point in penalizing someone after a race for a car's corner being a inch too low. Don't you think if someone made the effort to adjust it during a pit-stop that an official would pick up on it? These boys run close to 190 mph in some races and honestly, when you are going that fast and your beating and banging, there is bound to be some differences in the car after the race is done.

Maybe I'm naive and just enjoy the old days of racing, but I say if they passed pre-race inspections and no funny business was noted during or even after a pit stop, then loosen up with the post race inspections. it's not like there boy are going around the block for a spin.

The bottom line, it's NASCAR's way of making money off penalties and their way of making the sport interesting. I just want to see good racing!

  1. I gotta say that the boys in the garage will cheat the moment you turn your back. I think that you've got to check them, inspect them until they cry.

    Thought provoking though.

  2. I agree, give an inch and you will loss a mile.
