So, who really was the winner in the three team deadline blockbuster?
Well to be honest, the Pittsburgh Pirates made out very well. Not only did they acquire a great future outfielder in Brandon Moss, they received a solid reliever in Craig Hansen, and alright players from the Dodgers.
Looking at the Red Sox, was it really worth paying the dodgers to take Manny off of our hands for one outfielder? Yes it sure was. Bay is very good defensively, he hustles, and he can hit.
This being said, in losing Manny, the Red Sox broke up the best 3-4 hitting duo the game has seen since Jose Canseco-Mark McGuire well over a decade ago. They also lost a career .300 hitter, 25 home runs a year guy.
So who won and who lost? Well only time will tell, but i have a gut feeling the happiness of Manny in LA won't last too long.

You might think that Manny's happiness in L.A. won't last long but we'll take him hitting .600 in Dodger Blue so far (12-for-20), with three HRs, six RBIs, in only five games. And he wants to say, says that he loves the place.

Dodgers will not be willing to pay Manny 25-30 Million. Manny is saying what he needs to say right now. He will be wearing Yankee Pin Stripes most likely next April.
What a sad day that will be for me. Though it will make the Sox - Yankee rivalry spark up again. It was grow a little stale since the Yankees became such perennial chokers.
