LB Derrick Thomas (1985-88)-Thomas recorded a school record 18 sacks his junior year in 87. He followed that up with a 27-sack season winning the Butkus Award.
LB Lee Roy Jordan (1960-62)- In 1962 Jordan was finalist for the Heisman Trophy, he had 31 tackles in the '63 Orange Bowl.
LB Cornelius Bennett (1983-86)- Cornelius was a three-time All-American for the Tide. As a senior, he won the Lombardi Award and SEC player of the year honors.
LB DeMeco Ryans (2002-05)- DeMeco was named SEC's Defensive Player of the Year for his performance in 2005. He finished is career at Alabama fourth on the All-time tackles list with 309.
DB Antonio Langham (1990-93)-Langham is the Tides only Thorpe Award winner. He had 19 career interceptions.
DB Jeremiah Castille (1979-82)-In coach Bryant's last game Castille had three interceptions and after the game Bryant said, " My career has been great because of guys like this guy right here."
DB Don McNeal (1977-79)-McNeal was a part of two national championship teams, he was an All-American in 1979, and was named to Alabama's Team of the Century, but he is known more for making the tackle to keep Penn State out of the end-zone in the '79 Suger Bowl.
Special Teams
K Van Tiffin (1983-86)- Tiffin his most-known for "The Kick" a 52-yard field goal as time expired against arch-rival Auburn in the 1985 Iron Bowl to lift Alabama to a 25-23 victory. He also holds the school record for converting 135 extra points.
P Greg Gant (1971-73)-Gant had a career average 43.6 yards per punt.
Coach
Paul "Bear" Bryant- Bryant won six national titles at Alabama and he won 315 games during his career.
