Overview: Obviously this will be the top attraction Sunday afternoon with two powerful offenses going at it. Sunday's game will mark Terrell Owens (aka. Batman's) first regular season game in Cincinnati, but he will not be the only high profile wide receiver under the spotlight. Randy Moss, Wes Welker, and Chad Ochocinco will try to outshine Owens in his Cincinnati debut.
Players To Watch:
The Receivers: All eyes will be on Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens, but it will also be interesting to see how Randy Moss and Wes Welker will do on the field together, healthy.
The Tight Ends: Rookie tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Jermaine Gresham will debut with their new teams as well on Sunday. Gresham saw a lot of action in the last 3 preseason games.
Andre Smith: Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis was not happy about Smith's play in the preseason. Smith will receive a lot of heat if he does not get his act together.
Geno Atkins: On the flip side, rookie defensive tackle Geno Atkins had a great preseason.
Quarterbacks: Tom Brady will be facing a talented Bengals secondary, but I think he will be up to the task. Start Brady. As for Palmer, he should be started if you do not have anyone better. Darius Butler and Devin McCourtey are talented, but inexperienced.
Running Backs: The Patriots running backs should not get a whole lot of carries, but it would be safe the make Laurence Maroney a flex player. The Patriots struggled to contain the run last season, and Cedric Benson should start in all fantasy leagues.
Receivers: Randy Moss and Wes Welker are must starts for the Bengals, while Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens are must starts for the Bengals. I would consider using Rob Gronkowski or Jermaine Gresham at either the flex or the starting tight end. Brandon Tate could be a solid option in the flex. The same goes for Jordan Shipley.
Predictions: Both teams have a great offensive showing, but when the game is on the line Tom Brady is money.
Final Score: Patriots 34 - Bengals 27
Top Fantasy Performer: Tom Brady (34-46-432-4-1)
