According to ESPN's Joe Schad via Twitter, North Carolina's football team may be without 16 of their players when they open the season against LSU this weekend.

Schad has been updating his Twitter on this story and has already reported that the team may be completely wiped out at running back and that defensive end Robert Quinn is also being investigated for illegal interaction with an agent.

The team apparently leaves for Atlanta at 9:30am on Friday morning, so there's no telling just how depleted the Tar Heels will be.
