Manchester United's new signing Bebe has reportedly been so terrible in training that he was taken off the pitch during a reserve team match against Manchester City by reserve team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Many eyebrows were raised when the young Portuguese striker and former street kid was plucked from obscurity earlier this month and even more questions were raised when Sir Alex Ferguson stated that he hadn't bothered to watch the 20 year-old Portuguese forward before completing the signing of the player for around £8 million through the advice of former United assistant coach and Portugal National Team coach Carlos Queiroz.

Ferguson signed Bebe from Portuguese club Vitoria de Guimaraes, following a spell at Portuguese third division side Estrala da Amadora. The Guardian reported that Bebe was pulled from the reserve match that Sir Alex Ferguson was scheduled to attend.

Many believe that it may not be all bad new for United, this week an unsubstantiated report came about stating that Bebe actually only cost the club £250k and not the £7.4 million reported in the press.

Only time will tell if this rags to riches story of the kid of Cape Verdean descent will fill the shoes that have been put in front of him. Maybe he's still adjusting or maybe it wasn't what it seemed, either way he'll have every opportunity to prove his worth and grow as a player at Old Trafford.
