According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, New York Mets talented farm hand, Jenrry Mejia, will be given an opportunity to start for NY very soon:
Andy Martino of the Daily News believes it could be as early as this upcoming Saturday in Chicago:
All of this comes on the heels of Mejia’s latest gem for AAA Buffalo. While Pat Misch was getting pummeled for 5 ER in 3 IP, Jennry was baffling hitters from the Washington Nationals International league affiliate. He took a no-hit bid into the 6th inning and according to the Bison official website:
Mejia had a dominating fastball that reached as high as 97 mph. Through the first four innings, the Chiefs didn’t get a ball out of the infield off the righty. Martinez broke up the Mejia’s no-hit bid with a one-out home run in the top of the sixth.
It was the only run he allowed on the night, pitching 8 brilliant innings while fanning 9 batters in the process.
