Troy Polamalu Gets His Hair Insured For One Million Dollars
Head & Shoulders announced on Monday, that they have insured Troy Polamalu's hair for one million dollars with Lloyd's of London, a British insurance and reinsurance market.
Polamalu has starred in multiple commercials for Head & Shoulders, in which, he shows off his impressive locks.
Polamalu's famed three-foot-long hair is a tribute to his Samoan heritage, but also a dangerous target to his opposing players.
Due to past and possible future hair grabs that occur during Polamalu's NFL games, it's quite possible that this is more than a publicity stunt, and an actual concern for Head & Shoulders.
Although Lloyd's of London is known for unusual stunts that turn into media gold, such as; Keith Richards' fingers, Celine Dion's vocal cords, Tina Turner's legs, and the body of professional wrestler Bret "The Hitman" Hart.
The insurance details, explaining what would happen if Polamalu's hair was destroyed or ripped out, have not yet been released.
