The FCC is investigating WPHT Phillies announcer Larry Andersen's, "somebody oughta put one in his neck" comment after New York Met Jose Reyes' celebration of a homerun in a recent Mets Phillies matchup.

A source indicates that Jeffrey H. Tignor, Acting Chief of the FCC, has responded to listeners complaints.  The Commission will review carefully to determine whether [the comments] contain sufficient information to suggest that there has been a violation of the obscenity, indecency or profanity laws.

If they determine that a violation has occured - the Enforcement Bureau will start an investigation which could include a letter of inquiry to WPHT.

WPHT has not responded to a request for comment but NY Newsday's Neil Best said to me, "I had not heard that Bob.  I guess I should check your [archive].  I do think that Larry's remarks about Reyes were way over the line."

I will edit if WPHT gets back to me.
