Last season's starting linebackers led the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers defense.
Those three players combined for 309 tackles, which was three of the top four individuals on the team.
The talk all summer is that those three players were seniors and who will replace them.
The current favorites to start are Mike Rallis and Keanon Cooper on the outside and Gary Tinsley on the inside.
There are at least two other linebackers that could push them for a starting spot.
