NFL, Green Bay Packers, Brett Favre, Breaking News

Are you kidding me? I mean, seriously, are you kidding me?

Within the last hour Brett Favre has said that he has reached a "stalemate" with coach Mike McCarthy and has basically said he wants to move on.

I have sat back and watched this ridiculous drama unfold over the course of the last few weeks and all I could think was, I'm glad I'm not a Packers fan. Well after the latest news to come out about the topsy-turvy quarterback, I'm really glad.

I'll let our friends at ESPN.com fill you in on the details, but the bottom line is that Favre, who retired, then wanted to come back, then wanted to play elsewhere, then was going to retire for a marketing deal, then got reinstated, then said he was ready to play for the Pack, is now going to be trade, most likely to the Vikings.

This guy is a joke. He has turned this situation into a nightmare for everyone involved.  He's a self-centered, egotistical baby, and he's doing nothing but tarnishing his once-sterling reputation.

Sorry Brett, but you've officially reached "loser" status with this latest news.

  1. Upon his reinstatement, there was never any intention of Favre playing for the Packers, either by Favre or the Packers. Anybody who thought otherwise is just clueless.

    1. thanks J for that insight.....I guess that's why Favre and McCarthy met for 5 and half hours last night. If there was NO INTENTION, they would have never met.

While I figured it would come to this anyway, saying "there was never any intention of Favre playing for the Packers, either by Favre or the Packers." is dead wrong on your part. But I appreciate the obnoxious response

      Have a great day!

    2. what a lame remark, when men retire at such an early age, or are put out on the injury list, and you are denying a man of his identity..... Give him his love, and leave him alone... hell I am a Detroit fan, and you see where that gets me, but ahh well, roll with the punches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    3. Writers like you ad more furl to the fire. And for what? So that you can bitch about the same thing you claim to bitch about? Good work, I guess.

    4. Brett Farve has giving his life to football. He has showed his teammates and fans that he is willing to do anything to win. Hes missed nearly a few quarters in his whole career ,in the belief that without him the team is not as good as it is with him. That holds true today still. Unfortunately he has to deal with owners whom obviously do not respect what he has giving for this team, the fans and the game itself.

Brett Farve is a Hall a famer, one of the best ever and he can still play as one of the best ever. It is truly sickening to see the lack of respect for this man.

It goes with the times I guess, but it's quite simular to when Jordan retired and came back, the only differance is Jordan was treated with the respect and dignity he deserved and earned.

I hope Brett Farve wins a ring with his new team, regardless of whom they are.

    5. I don't see the problem here, The pacs don't want him, he want's to move on
WHAT THE HELL ABOUT THIS DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND??

    6. I know personally and for a fact that if they could have put the past behind them, Brett was ready to go back to Green Bay. All I can say is that he is now in a much better situation. He doesn't play for a GM with his head up his ass. I must say, I love that statement, even if I said it myself.

  2. Bears are in trouble now !

  3. Seriously I would rather watch a baseball game that Tim McGarver is commentating than to hear another Brett Favre story. Somebody needs to pull the plug on this and get on with something else. I heard Brittany Spears shaved her head (and other places) let's talk about that again!!!

  4. David, were you at that 5 1/2 hr meeting? Take a longer look at your own commentary, before you call someone elses 'obnoxious'..

You have a great day day too.

I hope Rodgers buries every decent record Favre set. Nobody will ever break the INT record, congrats on that one Brett, it's yours for life.

  5. All I want is for everyone to knock off the nonsense, and brett to ust stay with us where he belongs. I just want Brett to understand that he is a PACKER and he always will be. So McCarthy (who should already know this), you are a Packer, too. So Brett will go to practice all the time and of course he will be watching QB movies when McCarthy leaves at 10:30pm. Just stop it.

In the 70's we would demonstrate etc. to do and make others do what they should. What do yu,all think????TMK

  6. David I think you are a asshole. Brent Farve is a great QB, If he wants to move on so be it. Who is it a nightmare for if anything him, this guy wants a super bowl so let him. You are just a writer and you have a Fantasy baseball and Football. Brent Farve is the real deal so suck balls LAME! and maybe one day if you change your negative outlook on shit you might be remebered like he will one day. SIKE!

    1. Could not agree with you more Jay. The loser in this article is the author. If he got his head out his a_ _, he might be able to see some light. What a jerk. Go Brett.

  7. Are you for real here buddy, You havent got a clue what the hell is goin on. Farve is not here about the money if he was he would have took that marketing deal and chose to move on. So let me give you some insite bone head. Here is how it all played out Mr. thompson and Mccartny the so called people in controll are pissed because farve threw that interception and the didnt make it to the super bowl. Now with that said they forced brett to make a dision that he wasnt ready to make at the time. But wait now didnt we wait and give him time to make it last yr. Hmmmm interesting so what was the hurry now. Here is what i think should happen allow farve to compete for his job and if he wins it give it to him. I f he dont then worrie what your goin to do but i know farve will end up on top. Fire Thompson and then give MacCartny his walking papaers after this yr.I Really havent seen alot of improvment out of either of them anyway so who cares. I been a packer fan all my life and had respect for them even in there bad days but this is outragious unbeleaveable. I dont get it dont blame brett for his disicion he is human but we can blame the ones that didnt open the arms up and welcome him bck. So you trade him here is what im goin to do becuase i think brett is amazing if the packers play what ever team they trade him to ill be there watching him kick the packers butt. I have lost all confident in the packer organization and will never again be a true packer fan untill they get rid of them 2 bone heads. carl

    1. Speak on man speak ON. Been a cheese head most of my life until this BS. Them 2 really need to take walk right in the line of Chaney!

  8. brett favre is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play this beautiful game and anyone that sits and trashes his name over all of this is just ignorant. he broke all of those records because he is the best. not tom brady or anyone else for that matter but him. the fact that the packers didnt throw everything they had at favre to come back is the tragedy, not that he will be playing for another team next year but the sheer fact that its because the team in which he gave everything he ever had to isnt willing to give half of that back. respect him and his name. i am not even a packers fan but i will always be a brett favre fan and even for those of you that arent, if you are football fans then you should respect the living legend that is brett favre.

  9. let it go Brett.....let it go.....

  10. yeah david is a jerk. Brett is and always will be the man...pack or not.

  11. Dude you are an idiot man, and this is one of the most pathetic articles on this situation. Apparently you've never played football, even highschool or pop warner, let alone sports in general, and apparently you've never watched Favre's career. He's never changed his mind on what he's wanted to do. He's wanted to come back and play. The organization is being deuschebags and offering him other routes to go down for him to "consider" so they can get rid of him. He's never agreed to any of those paths and then changed his mind. How about you go get the facts straight before you make some idiotic comment in an article that somehow slipped by your supervisor and made it onto this site.

  12. Favre has earned the right to determine how his carreer ends. This guy is not Roger Clemens. He has not made his team and everyone associated with him look bad. Does anyone remember something similar happening to Joe Montana. How disgraceful was it for Joe to end up his career playing for the Kansas City Chiefs. Joe deserved better and so does Brett. Sports writers tend to loose their love of the game because they are looking at too many teams at once and not the team they enjoyed as a kid. If you are not a packer fan and are glad you are not one then Green Bay really doesn't care about stupid opinions.

  13. Its about time someone called it like it is. He is a self-centered, egotistical baby, and he will done in a year tops. I mean come one have some self respect for yourself. Follow through on you choice to retire. Get over yourself and move on. NO one cares anymore! GO BEARS!!!!

  14. Brett Farve has always been there for his team for the past 16 years...ALWAYS! He played right after his dad died...he played during the cancer crisis with his wife..we played as his family and friends homes where being destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Because he has ALWAYS been the apitome of the gentleman sportman. He retired. This decision has always been a hard one for him. He has had football pumping through his blood since as long as he can remember. SO he decided that retiring was a mistake...he missed the game Brett was doing something wrong...something deceiving...BEFORE THEY COULD EVEN GET THE REAL STORY FROM BRETT. Now one has to say..would it be to much to give the man thaht made all the personal sacrifices listed above just one ounce of a benefit of the doubt? Most certainly THIS is was Brett is having a hard time letting go..the fact that this team just threw him to the dogs without getting all the information. Seems to me...the Packers are going to have some really freakin angry fans on their hands this year. For me...I say go to the Vikings Brett!! Living well is the best reward. Those of us that are TRUE Farve fans will love him no matter what colors he will be wearing this football season.

    1. Great comment Vanessa. Favre fan for life here.

  15. Thanks for the feedback. Obviously this strikes a chord with the Packers fans, more so the Brett fans.

But you need to take a step back and look it from the perspective of America. He looks like a complete jackass.

He RETIRED. This isn't boxing. It's a team sport. The Packers had to prepare for like WITHOUT Brett. They made promises to Aaron Rodgers. Life goes on.

But woe is me Favre says, uh, ok, I think maybe I might wanna consider possibly start thinking about maybe um, mis-retiring....so, can I pretty please come back and play with "y'all".

    Spare me.

    1. Sorry David, but by your comment, I don't know if you deserve being spared. All your comment does is show that Brett is human. I guess you never changed your mind. I know I have. Bottom line is the Packers screwed up. So they move on, why would you not have given him a chance to earn his job back. If you move on, and in the process finds something better, then you should go with what is best. Sure don't think there would have been a learning curve for BRETT. AMEN.

  16. Irregardless of Farve's indecision and waffling, he WILL NOT be a factor. His career and his abilities are done. He should have retired gracefully as he kept telling everyone we wanted to do. His body just couldn't take the pounding anymore. Well, if he comes back...he is going to get POUNDED and I personally can't wait to see it.

As a lifetime Broncos fan, we already kicked his ass in one Super Bowl. Elway knows how to gracefully exit. So does Steve Young, Joe Montana, etc. Get a grip Brett. It's not all about you anymore. I once had a lot of respect for you...but your ego is getting in the way. If you do happen to make it do another team (and we play you in 2008)...I am going to personally enjoy seeing one of the Broncos linebackers rip your head right off.

You are fast becoming an embarrasment to yourself and to football.

  17. I live in Wisconsin and I am so glad to see some press coverage that is not full of blind Farve admiration. Blah blah gave his life blah blah blah. Farve did not give anything, he has been very well compensated for his career, which I will wager has been a nicer professional experience then many people endure. Frankly as a business person I would not conduct business with any individual who showed the same selfish, indecisive and negative traits as HH Brett Farve has exhibited. He had the whole state in tears for crying out loud, and lapped it up. I hope his head still fits inside a helmet, maybe they can custom make a big huge one to suit his ego. My suggestion is that all the Farve fans who are so heart broken about this prima donna who has abandoned them should either get off their couches and find a productive way to spend their time or move to New Jersey. Good riddance. I just might start rooting for the Pack.

  18. Favre's ability to do what he has done for all these years, "win" is certainly not going to change because you are unable to perceive greatness. Your article is the "joke" and a cheap way to try to draw attention to your limited writing skills, but then that is the way of losers like you who are unable to see anything outside of their limited perception.
